The Indiana University Undergraduate Research Conference, established in 1994, is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity, in all fields of study, which is performed in partnership with faculty or other mentors as a vital component of an Indiana University undergraduate education. This is an annual meeting for undergraduate college students.
When is IUURC?
IUURC is on Friday, December 9, 2022, 9:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. The registration table opens at 12:00 p.m. with lunch cards provided. You should plan to arrive at least 45 minutes early to register and set up.
What will I do at IUURC?
Undergraduate students present their research either in an oral or poster presentation. Faculty mentors and research team members are invited and encouraged to attend.
If I choose to present orally, how long do I have?
Oral presentations are limited to 8–10 minutes followed by 2–4 minutes for questions, which is a total of 12 minutes. You'll be asked to send your presentation slides to the organizers ahead of the conference date. Oral presentors should be prepared to use PowerPoint.
Do I have to be invited to submit to present?
No, any undergraduate student from any IU campus may submit an abstract for consideration.
Can I make a poster and do an oral presentation?
No, you must choose one.

How do I register for the conference?

Is this different from where I submit my abstract?
Yes, to submit your abstract visit Submit an Abstract (students) and follow the instruction in the link. You'll automatically be registered for the conference if you submit an abstract.
How do I get to the conference?

Where can I park?
Please see our locations to park. You must be parked legally when visiting IUPUI or you may get a ticket.
Will there be a luncheon?
No. However, we'll provide preloaded meal cards for all attendees that can be used at a variety of places on campus.
How long am I required to stay?
You are expected to remain for the entire event; there are two sessions.
What should I wear?
Please dress professionally. You're giving an academic presentation and should be dressed accordingly.
You must have your project faculty mentor approve your abstract.
Do I need to send my electronic slides for my oral presentation in advance?
Yes. You should make sure your slides are available online in addition to bringing a thumb drive. We will contact you to send us your slides ahead of time.
